It’s a Family Affair: Welcome to the Generations Trophy
Motor Racing Legends will introduce a new concept to the world of historic motor racing in 2025, with a family-led racing series. The Motor Racing Legends Generations trophy will pit clan against clan, with different generations of a family paired together in one-hour, single-make races.
“This idea has come from discussions internally,” says Pierre-Antoine Lecoutour, Motor Racing Legends’ CEO. “I think a great number of people in motorsport have come to it thanks to the influence of a parent or grandparent. It’s true for me, and I’m sure that it is true of so many of our entrants. We want to celebrate that connection, because it’s so special. So many of our competitors have sons, daughters, mothers, fathers racing in the paddock and we want to give them somewhere to race together. To be able to race for your family name in a fun, laid back but still competitive environment, is going to be very exciting.”
For the closest possible racing, all entrants will race in the MGB. The British classic is relatively affordable and cheap to run, and any entered car must be in pre-1966 FIA specification to take part, reducing development and thus running and preparation costs.
To ensure that competition remains fair, competitive guidelines are in place. As well as the exact technical specification of the cars, there will be regulation on driver pairings. Racers must be of different generations of the same family; no siblings or married couples will be permitted. Classes, based on age and racing experience, will ensure that every entrant has something achievable to race for.

The first race will take place at the Motor Racing Legends Silverstone GP meeting on 18th-19th October. Entries will open soon, and are handled through the app.
