Pre-Silverstone Festival Test Day
Motor Racing Legends will host a pre-Silverstone Festival test day on the Grand Prix Circuit on 20th August.
Hosted on the Wednesday of race week, it will offer competitors a great chance to prepare for one of the biggest weekends of the racing season, with just shy of three hours’ worth of track time available for each entrant.
“Testing for major events can often be very hectic, with a lot of disruption,” explains Pierre-Antoine Lecoutour, CEO of Motor Racing Legends. “With that in mind, we wanted to create a space for high quality testing ahead of Silverstone Festival. We are making sure that cars are on-track with others of similar performance, which benefits everyone and is much safer and more valuable in terms of learning and preparation.”
Entry is open to any closed body car, whether competing at Silverstone Festival or not, but single seater and open wheel cars are not permitted. On top of this, entrants will be split into ‘slow’ and ‘fast’ groups, ensuring that competitors can focus on honing their cars without worry of unsafe closing speeds. Each group will have six sessions of 29 minutes, totalling 174 minutes in the day.
The test, run from the National Paddock, will be unsilenced. Passengers, other than ARDS-accredited instructors, will not be permitted, and all drivers must have a 2025 race licence.
Four Motor Racing Legends grids will feature at the Silverstone Festival: HMRN Pre ’63 GT, competing for the prestigious Royal Automobile Club Historic Tourist Trophy; GT3 Legends; the Royal Automobile Club Woodcote Trophy and Stirling Moss Trophy; and the Historic Touring Car Challenge and Tony Dron Trophy.
Entry fees for the day, per car, are £1000 for MRL Club members and £1200 for non-members. Entry for all Motor Racing Legends events, is handled through the app which can be downloaded here.
