The clock ticking is down to Motor Racing Legends’ inaugural London Historic Trophy, and the dawn of a new era at Brands Hatch, 19th-21st June, is closing fast. Planning for the event can take another step forward today, with the release of the event timetable.

New Series Debuts

Eight Motor Racing Legends grids form the backbone of this exciting new event, which forms a key part of Brands Hatch’s 100th birthday ‘Century of Power’ celebrations. Of particular interest, the brand-new 2-Litre Sportscars category makes its debut at a circuit graced by the European Championship namesake in period, with the Pre-’66 GT Sprint series also racing for the first time.

2-Litre Sportscars has two hours of track time on the magnificent Brands Hatch GP Circuit, with two 30-minute sessions on Saturday and an hour-long race on Sunday. Similarly, Pre-’66 GT Sprint and the 1950s sportscars of the Royal Automobile Club Woodcote Trophy & Stirling Moss Trophy will each race for an hour on Saturday afternoon.

Touring Car Magic

The Historic Touring Car Challenge will evoke memories of fine tin top battles at the Kent venue over the decades with two 40-minute races on Saturday, whilst Pre-War Sports Cars has two half-hour races on Sunday.

‘Top Hat Pre-’66 Touring Cars’, an HRDC series run alongside Motor Racing Legends, races on Sunday afternoon, along with its HRDC cousins the ‘Gerry Marshall Trophy Series’ and ‘Dunlop Allstars’ with ‘Classic Alfa Challenge’.

The ever-popular Formula Junior Historic Racing Association brings wheel-to-wheel action with its ‘Silverline’ Championship, with races on both Saturday and Sunday.

There are three days of racing over the June weekend. Friday’s action, on the Indy Circuit, will see the family-versus-family, all-MGB, Generations Trophy in the afternoon, followed by the all-new HRDC ‘Andrea de Adamich Trophy’, for pre-1966 Alfa Romeo touring cars. Both races are of one hour.

Demos and Parades Galore

For those looking to bring back 1980s sportscar racing memories, high-speed demos will showcase Group C machinery on both Saturday and Sunday lunchtime.

Meanwhile, there are two parades to whet the appetite. Supercar Driver’s awesome fleet of modern halo cars will grace the circuit on Saturday evening, with Sunday seeing an open parade for car club attendees.
