Live Music, Great Food: Hospitality at Donington Historic Festival
Racers at the Donington Historic Festival will have plenty to write home about, with evening festivities for guests stepping up for 2025.
Top-quality live music, themed street food and complimentary drinks from Kingfisher will keep the festivities motoring long after the track action finishes.
Friday night, May 2nd, will be curry night in the Motor Racing Legends suite. Cooked on the terrace by the team from a highly-rated local restaurant, guests can expect a wide range of curries and sides, with a dosa station and naans straight from the tandoor. Live sitar from one of the UK’s top performers will provide the ambience and Kingfisher will provide a selection of their drinks, including alcohol-free offerings, free of charge from their branded Land Rover – right outside the hospitality.
Rock and roll will take centre stage on Saturday night, May 3rd, as the RPJ Band, fronted by motor racing fanatic Rick Parfitt Jnr, will bring an unforgettable live performance. Famed for their exceptional shows, which you can preview on their website here, the band’s set is filled with modern and classic hits. Once again, Kingfisher will be offering free drinks to keep the party moving and there’ll be street food with an Italian flavour, with wood-fired pizza and a pasta station to sate the tastebuds after a hard day’s racing.
“I’m really keen to ensure that racing with Motor Racing Legends is memorable,” says Pierre-Antoine Lecoutour, CEO. “The racing is, of course, the main element of that but beyond the track there’s so much we want to offer, because historic racing is a family, and we should celebrate that. I’d like to give our members a place to come together and share a drink, eat great food, and party. Curry, drinks and live music is the perfect evening accompaniment to a weekend’s racing.”
Saturday night’s party will be enhanced by the arrival of the podium finishers from the final race of the day. The Royal Automobile Club Pall Mall Cup closes the on-track action, and the top three cars will head straight to the hospitality suite to be serenaded by a raucous atmosphere.
Friday’s entertainment starts at 17:00 with drinks, while food will follow from 18:00 until 20:00. On Saturday, drinks will start at 18:00, the podium finishers from the Royal Automobile Pall Mall Cup will head straight from the finish line to the hospitality just before 19:00, and food will be served from then until 21:00.
A warm welcome is at the core of the guest experience at any Motor Racing Legends event – it is hospitality, after all. There will always be staff on hand in the suite, with familiar faces helping to ensure that the paddock is a home-away-from-home.
The suite itself is in a new location for 2025, at the heart of the paddock and positioned to give a dedicated terrace for guests to enjoy the track action on the Melbourne Loop. The front terrace will provide plenty of space to bask in the glorious weather, with a barista onsite all day to keep guests refreshed.
Inside, live timing screens will be in place as always, and the quality lunches Motor Racing Legends guests have come to expect will be available every day. Takeaway lunchboxes for crew are now available, too, and can be ordered on the app. Breakfast snacks will be available on Friday, Saturday and Sunday morning.
