GP ICONS To join motor racing legends in 2026
The Motor Racing Legends paddock will welcome Formula 1 machinery for the first time in 2026, with the launch of an all-new grid: GP Icons.
The introduction of GP Icons marks another significant step in the continued growth of Motor Racing Legends. Dedicated to an evocative era of racing at the sport’s top table, GP Icons celebrates the 3-litre cars from 1966 to 1985 (excluding 1.5-litre turbos). It’s an age defined by outrageous designs, legendary drivers, iconic liveries and the unmistakable glory of the Ford Cosworth DFV.
Eligible cars include a broad swathe of the finest Grand Prix racers of all time, from the pioneering 3-litre cars of the late 1960s, through the development of downforce aerodynamics, the revolution of ground effect and the slimline, flat-bottomed races of the mid 1980s.
The creation of GP Icons reflects Motor Racing Legends’ ongoing commitment to championing the most significant eras of motorsport history, while offering owners the opportunity to race their cars in well-curated, meaningful and professionally run events.
The new grid will make its debut at the BRDC Classic at Silverstone, held on 24th-26th July 2026. This landmark event provides a fitting stage for the new series to be unveiled, before GP Icons moves toward a full calendar of fixtures in 2027.
