Motor Racing Legends celebrates the 20th anniversary of GT3, arguably the most successful and widely adopted category in motorsport history. And it’s happening as the curtain-raiser to the biggest GT3 race in the world: the CrowdStrike Spa 24 Hours.
Whether on a national or international stage, it now forms the backbone of nearly every major GT championship worldwide. The 24 Hours of Spa has run exclusively for GT3 cars for 15 years and is widely recognised as having the highest quality entry anywhere in the world, regularly attracting more than 70 entries.
As part of the birthday celebrations, GT3 Legends will raise the curtain for the blue riband race, held in front of 100,000 enthusiastic spectators. It’s a perfect combination; the 24 Hours of Spa is the crown atop a two-decade reign, and GT3 Legends showcases the first 10 years of the story.
GT3 Legends entrants will also take part in the famous parade, with cars driving from the circuit to the centre of the town of Spa where they’re presented to the local public.
Nestled in the heart of the Belgian Ardennes, Spa-Francorchamps has been a cornerstone of motorsport since 1921. Though it’s a shorter, and far safer, track than in its fearsome past, much of the circuit treads the same ground more than a century later, weaving through dense forest and climbing spectacular topography. The mighty Eau Rouge/Radillon is lauded the world over, but it’s just one moment on a lap saturated with history, exhilaration and challenge.
